2014 - 2018
I was born and raised in North Wales and grew up speaking and learning in Welsh. In 2018 obtained my Integrated Master's in Earth Sciences from Oxford University through which I also developed an interest in planetary sciences, from various summer undergraduate internships and research placements including at Oxford and NASA.
Before pursuing a PhD in planetary geosciences, I enjoyed an 18 month break from academia during which I travelled, volunteered, and tutored.
2020 - 2024
I then spent 4½ years (2020 - 2024) pursuing my PhD in Martian geomorphology at the University of Texas in Austin, graduating in Summer 2024. I developed expertise in remote sensing, GIS, fieldwork, programming (python), and landscape modeling. The majority of this research was funded by my own proposals to NASA and other funders.
2024 - now
Since October 2024 I have been a research fellow at Trinity College, University of Cambridge, where I will use my time to learn more about and apply my expertise to landscapes here at home, on Earth, given the unprecedented speed of climate change we face and the multitude of effects this will have on landscape processes and environments.
I have taught across the broad spectrum of Geosciences, in fieldtrips to lectures, and mentored several students to success in short research projects. I am also an editor of the European Geosciences Union (EGU) Geomorphology blog and contribute frequently on diverse topics to a general audience.
